Living along the waterfront, quiet and peaceful but nevertheless close to the city centre. A beautiful spacious (166m²) semi-detached villa located on Steiger Eiland Zuid in IJburg. Completed in 2019. A fantastic family home with a large living room, luxurious kitchen, at present four bedrooms and the possibility to expand to five or six bedrooms, gasless, eight solar panels and energy label A, own parking place and large sunny terrace from which you can dive directly into the river IJ. Layout of the house;
The house has two front doors. One of the doors provides access to the hallway, the other door is to the interior storage area. You can store bicycles, garden furniture, tools, or a wine cooler here. The meter cabinet is also located in this storage area. The stylish streamlined half-open kitchen is equipped with modern Siemens built-in appliances and a Quooker. There is a turned open staircase in the living room with built-in cabinet space underneath. In this manner, practical efficiency is combined with the spacious and luxurious look of an open staircase.
Space, light and view
When you open the door to the living room, you enter an oasis of space and light. The spacious living room is located directly next to the sunny terrace, so that you can enjoy the panoramic view over the bay and the river IJ from the whole living room. When the sun comes out, you can step out on to the terrace. The terrace is 7 x 4.80 metres and offers plenty of space for the most comfortable garden furniture.
More ‘master’ than this master bedroom is practically impossible. It extends over the whole back of the house and is also four metres deep. The large windows down to the floor offer a fantastic view of the bay. This bedroom could be divided into two bedrooms, or you could add a walk-in closet or simply enjoy the spaciousness. That is up to you. On the other side of the first floor there are two good-sized bedrooms.
Bathroom and separate WC
Bath, double sink, walk-in shower, and ample space to manoeuvre. The bathroom has a very efficient layout This is possible due to the separate WC next to the staircase. This in not only a space saver, it is also convenient and pleasant.
This floor contains a fourth bedroom identical to the “master bedroom” on the first floor. You also have a spectacular view over the bay from this bedroom. In addition, there is an open space on this floor that would be suitable for an extra bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet, or sunny study. The washing machine and dryer connections and the door to the unique roof-top terrace are also located in this space. Contrary to the terrace on the ground floor, the roof-top terrace is situated at the front of the house. So that no matter what time of day it is, you can always enjoy the sun. In addition, there is also the option to convert the roof-top terrace into an extra bedroom.
Sunny terraces and solar panels
Instead of a garden, this house has two terraces, constructed from low-maintenance decking, one terrace in front of the living room and one terrace on top of the second floor. Waking up gradually in the morning with the rising sun, in the afternoon relaxing in a lovely ambiance with a view of the setting sun! Talking about the sun: these houses are equipped standard with solar panels. The number of solar panels can be increased.
Car and boat right next to the house
The house has a storage area on the ground floor. There are potted plants in front of the house and a private parking space next to the house. The house also has its own dock for a boat. You can sail your boat right into the city centre! Isn’t that absolutely unique?
Energy and sustainability
The house is hooked up to the district heating of IJburg. With its excellent insulation, solar panels and floor heating on the ground floor, the house easily qualifies for energy label A.
IJburg has become a nice mature district of Amsterdam, it really has everything you need but above all a lot of space, a lot of water and a lot of fresh air, exactly what we all need now. The popular (boat) harbour of IJburg is within walking distance and is surrounded by trendy cafés and restaurants such as NAP, Dok48, CañaBarstow, Mchi, Bloem on IJburg and Il Sogno where you can have a drink or a bite to eat on the terrace in the summer. The Amsterdam city centre can easily be reached within 10 minutes, with tram line 26, by bus, bike, or car. You can dock your own boat, enjoy a swim and maybe even skate. You can also learn all sorts of water sports here: there is a sub-, surf-, foil school, a windsurfing school, and a canoe school.
There is also a soccer club, a hockey club, and a tennis club.
The house is located directly on the right side as soon as you enter IJburg over the bridge, you drive past the local supermarket, where you can get the best fresh fruit, and after a few hundred metres, you drive right on to the dock. You will find a wide range of shops in the pleasant shopping centre, and trendy side-walk cafés and good restaurants in the harbour. There is also a large park, the Theo van Gogh park and, of course, there is the very popular beach Blijburg.
A great family home for every water sports enthusiast but also for everyone who wants space but who also doesn’t want to miss the city centre, the best of both worlds.
